CWMBRAN MAN HAD CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY
A paedophile was caught with dozens of child abuse images as well as animal pornography.
Matthew Bright, aged 38, of Greenwood Avenue, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran admitted possession of 31 category A indecent photographs of a child, the most serious kind.
He also accepted having 22 at category B and four at category C.
The defendant also pleaded guilty to the possession of two extreme pornographic images showing “a person performing an act of intercourse with a dead, unknown animal”.
Newport Magistrates' Court heard how Bright’s offences took place between August 1, 2024 and November 3, 2025.
He was jailed for 32 weeks with the sentence suspended for 18 months.
The defendant must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and complete a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
Bright will have to register as a sex offender for seven years and he was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for five years.
He must pay a £154 surcharge and £85 costs.
