MASON MCKEAN CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN LUTON - NO JAIL TIME
In a case that has drawn significant attention in Luton, Mason McKean, a 61-year-old resident of the town, was found to possess illicit images depicting child abuse, though he ultimately avoided immediate imprisonment.The incident dates back to August 2015, when police officers from the public protection unit conducted a routine check on McKean's computer at his home in Luton.
During this visit, authorities had grounds to suspect that McKean might be in possession of prohibited material.
This suspicion was based on his prior criminal record, which included a conviction from 2012 for making and possessing indecent images of children.
Given this background, the officers were authorized to examine his electronic devices more thoroughly.
As part of their investigation, two laptops were seized from McKean's residence and subjected to detailed analysis.

In the proceedings held at Luton Crown Court, Judge Mensah delivered her verdict, sentencing McKean to nine months in prison.
However, this sentence was suspended for a period of 24 months, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses during that period.
Additionally, the judge ordered McKean to participate in an Internet sex offenders treatment programme, aimed at reducing the risk of reoffending.
Furthermore, the court mandated that McKean's name be entered onto the sex offenders register for the next ten years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety measures.
