MAN JAILED FOR POSSESSION OF HALF A MILLION INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A resident of Weston-super-Mare has been sentenced to over three years in prison after authorities uncovered more than half a million indecent images of children stored on his devices. The investigation was initiated when law enforcement searched Martin Schwarz’s residence following credible intelligence indicating that illegal images were being viewed at that location.
During the search, officials seized 11 smartphones and external hard drives, revealing a total of 542,904 indecent images.
Following a probe conducted by the Internet Child Abuse Team, Schwarz faced charges including three counts of producing indecent images of children across categories A, B, and C, as well as possession of extreme and prohibited pornography.
On 10 November, Schwarz admitted to all charges in Bristol Crown Court, and he was subsequently sentenced on 6 March.
His punishment includes a prison term of three years and four months, an order requiring him to register with the police indefinitely under the Sexual Offences Act, and a sexual harm prevention order.
