IRVINE MAN SENTENCED FOR INDECENT COMMUNICATIONS OFFENCE
AN IRVINE man has been handed unpaid work after attempting to communicate indecently with a child.
Martin Lochlon pleaded guilty to two charges and appeared for sentencing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, December 2.
The 29-year-old admitted to sending a series of "written sexual communications" to a person he believed to be a 13-year-old child called Chloe - but who was in fact an undercover police officer.
Lochlon, of Craignow Place, sent messages of a "sexually explicit and indecent nature", and thereby attempted to communicate indecently with a child.
He also pleaded guilty to sending images of his erect penis to the undercover officer he thought was a child, and thereby attempting to cause a child to view a sexual image.
Both offences took place between November 16 and 29, 2023, at Hunter Place in Irvine.
Lochlon was told to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and must stay in his home between 7pm and 7am each night for the next six months.
He will also be under the supervision of the local authority for the next 30 months.
