GARDEN THOMSON AKA DANBERT GOSLING
Local residents gathered outside the home of Gordon Thomson after he was sentenced for hoarding such images and distributing them via WhatsApp to other pedophiles.
Thomson was later identified using an alias.
He was seen being removed from his property in a police vehicle on the evening of Monday, September 18.
Police stated that no arrests or charges were made following the demonstration but did not specify if Thomson had returned home afterward.
The Times previously reported that Thomson admitted to three charges related to downloading, possessing, and sharing indecent pictures of children from his residence on Etive Place.
He was also caught using a different name on Facebook.
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard that police executed a warrant at Thomson's partner’s residence on April 1, 2022.
During a search of his phone, they discovered images.
A total of 74 indecent images were recovered, with 51 categorized as the most severe abuse — including 28 category A videos and 23 images.
Additionally, 15 images fell into category B, and eight into category C.
A Crown prosecutor noted: “Multiple conversations on WhatsApp were discovered where the accused requested or shared indecent images.
One of these chat logs involved a group of 111 individuals, with images exchanged among members.
The police identified a contact with a Yemen dialing code in the chat.” Thomson admitted to taking or facilitating the taking of indecent images of children between February 7 and March 30, 2022.
He also confessed to possessing such images from February 7 to April 1, 2022, and to distributing or displaying these images online between March 27 and 29.
He infringed on his sex offender notification obligations when police linked him to a Facebook account under a different name, associated with the alias ‘Danbert Gosling’.
He was sentenced to a three-year community payback order with strict supervision, including participation in the Moving Forward Making Changes program.
The court also mandated 160 hours of unpaid work and a three-year stay on the sex offenders register.
A Police Scotland spokesperson commented: “On Monday, September 18, around 8:15 pm, officers responded to a large gathering outside a property at Etive Place, Castlepark, Irvine.
The group dispersed around 9:05 pm after police engaged with them.
No arrests or charges were made during this incident.”
