CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE CAUGHT WITH OVER 400 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN KENT
A convicted paedophile who had downloaded child abuse images on a secret phone was caught out when an alarm sounded during a police routine check at his home in Chatham.
Officers recovered over 400 indecent images, including both moving and stills, of children aged between 5 and 12, depicting abuse across all categories of seriousness.
Royle had also possessed an iPad, two laptops, two hard drives, and a second phone, all of which he did not disclose or was restricted from having under a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
He later admitted nine breaches of the SHPO, a failure to notify, and three counts of making indecent images of children.
He was sentenced to two years and four months in prison and was made subject to a 10-year SHPO and sex offender notification requirements.
The court heard the offences, which included a failure to disclose a username, had been committed while he was on licence from prison.
