KELTY MAN JAILED FOR STEALING £48,000 FROM FATHER-IN-LAW AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A Kelty man who was recently found guilty of stealing £48,000 from his father-in-law has been sentenced to jail for a domestic offence.Mark Green, aged 35, from Croftangry Road, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 8, at his residence, he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing, kicking a door, and making threats to his partner.
The deputy fiscal Azrah Yousaf stated that Green returned home shortly before 10pm and immediately became disruptive and abusive towards his partner, who became upset.
When detained by police, Green became angry, shouting "You’ll be f****** sorry." He also said to his partner.
Defence solicitor Ian Beatson explained that Green was under pressure due to a curfew and past struggles with alcohol.
Sheriff Pino di Emidio sentenced Green to 120 days in jail.
Green had previously been convicted for stealing his father-in-law’s life savings of £48,700.
The theft occurred when the couple broke into the victim’s home while he was on holiday and stole the cash from a safe.
The couple then spent the money over a nine-week period on three cars, a holiday, plastic surgery, a computer, and eight pairs of Ugg boots.
