MARCIN WASILEWSKI SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN PAISLEY
Marcin Wasilewski, a man from Paisley, has been handed down a severe prison sentence of 14 years following his conviction for a series of heinous sexual abuse crimes that spanned nearly a decade, from 2009 to 2018. The court heard harrowing details of his actions, which included not only physical assault but also invasive privacy violations and psychological torment.Wasilewski attempted to justify his predatory behavior by claiming that his actions were driven by a 'medical condition' that supposedly increased his sexual urges. However, the evidence presented in court painted a far more disturbing picture. Jurors learned that he subjected two women to a relentless campaign of abuse, which involved multiple forms of violence, threats, and sexual assault. His methods were calculated and invasive, including the use of hidden cameras placed in private spaces such as wardrobes and under covers to secretly record the victims while they were in vulnerable states, often asleep.
One of the victims was visibly distressed, sobbing as Wasilewski repeatedly raped her despite her desperate pleas for him to stop. The court was told that he continued his assault even when she was unconscious, demonstrating a complete disregard for her consent and well-being. The second woman endured similar ordeals, suffering under his manipulative and violent tactics.
During the trial, it was revealed that Wasilewski not only committed acts of sexual violence but also used threats to intimidate his victims. One victim was told by him that it was her 'duty' to engage in sex with him, further emphasizing the coercive nature of his crimes. The court also heard evidence that he took explicit photographs of women in various states of undress, further invading their privacy and adding a layer of humiliation and control.
The conviction included ten charges, among them multiple counts of rape. The presiding judge, Lord Armstrong, emphasized the severity of Wasilewski’s crimes and the lasting impact on the victims. In addition to the prison sentence, the judge ordered that Wasilewski be placed under supervision for five years following his release from incarceration. Furthermore, he was mandated to register as a sex offender indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community from potential future offenses.
