MAITLAND BUCHANAN SHOCKS FALKIRK WITH INAPPROPRIATE ACT IN FRONT OF TEENS NEAR SLAMANNAN
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the community of Falkirk, Maitland Buchanan, a 63-year-old resident of Braemar Drive, was involved in an alarming act that took place on January 2 near Slamannan.Buchanan was found to have performed a sexual act on himself in the presence of two minors, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, who were witnesses to this inappropriate behavior.
The incident occurred along the B803 road, a route frequently used by local residents and travelers passing through the area.
According to reports, Buchanan's actions were observed by the teenagers while they were in the vicinity, leading to immediate concern and subsequent police involvement.
During the court proceedings, Buchanan admitted to the offence, which has been classified as a serious breach of conduct given the nature of the act and the vulnerability of the victims involved.

Recognizing the need for a thorough understanding of Buchanan’s motives and mental state, the sheriff decided to defer sentencing for a period of four weeks, until April 25.
This delay will allow for comprehensive psychological and psychiatric assessments to be conducted, aiming to uncover any underlying issues that may have contributed to Buchanan’s behaviour.
