MAN JAILED FOR 17 YEARS FOR BRUTAL MURDER OF EX-GIRLFRIEND
Luke Jones, from Milford Haven, was convicted of the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Natasha Bradbury, following a violent episode triggered by her seeing someone else.
The incident occurred at her flat in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in February.
The Swansea Crown Court was told that Miss Bradbury died from numerous blunt force injuries, which included fractured ribs, injuries to her neck, as well as damage to her brain and heart.
Jones, who is 33 years old, denied intentionally murdering her, claiming her injuries resulted from a fall during an argument.
The prosecution, however, argued that he had beaten her to death after discovering she had been with another man since their breakup.
A neighbor named Timothy Down testified that he could hear heavy banging coming from her flat and thought about alerting the police but was advised by his father to stay out of it.
Jones was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 17 years, with the judge describing the attack as 'brutal, sustained, and severe.' Her family expressed their sadness and discussed the profound impact on her nine-year-old son, while police officials noted that justice was achieved, even if it offered little comfort to her loved ones.
