PONTYPOOL MAN ASSAULTED GIRLFRIEND AND 'ABUSED FAMILY PETS'
A MAN assaulted his girlfriend and abused her family pets.
Luke Groves, 32, from Pontypool admitted engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship.
Cardiff Crown Court heard he “assaulted her, threatened her, damaged her property, abused family pets, prevented her from going to work, isolated her from friends and belittled her”.
His offence took place between New Year’s Day in 2019 and June 30, 2024.
Allegations against her of intentional strangulation will remain on file while he was found not guilty of harassment when the prosecution offered no evidence.
Groves from Abersychan is due to be sentenced on February 5 and he was remanded in custody.
