JEALOUS CAMBRIDGE MAN MURDERED PREGNANT EX-GIRLFRIEND
Lloyd Bartley, aged 47, a drug dealer, was found guilty of murdering his pregnant former partner, Penny Taylor, aged 32, at her residence on Fanshawe Road in Cambridge during April.
The court proceedings revealed that Bartley attacked Ms Taylor with a kitchen knife, stabbing her 17 times.
The prosecution indicated that the killing was driven by jealousy, as Ms Taylor was pregnant by another man.
Prior to this incident, Bartley had served a two-year imprisonment period after admitting to possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
He was released on licence in March and visited Ms Taylor and their children.
During his final visit, he murdered her after learning of her relationship with another man.
Although he maintained a defense claiming Ms Taylor had self-inflicted the wounds, the jury dismissed this account.
The judge confirmed that Bartley faces a mandatory life sentence upon sentencing.
