LIAM TAYLOR FROM DAREN MAKES AI PORN OF STUDENTS IN DAREN AND DOUGLAS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Liam Taylor, a 26-year-old teacher from Darwen, has been sentenced to 19 months in prison for creating and possessing indecent images of children, including manipulated photos generated through artificial intelligence software. The offences took place while Taylor was employed at Ballakermeen High School in Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man, where he was working at the time of the crimes.Taylor’s criminal activities came to light after police initially arrested him on an unrelated matter. During the investigation, authorities seized his mobile phone and computer, uncovering a disturbing collection of indecent images. These included both still photographs and videos of students, which Taylor had secretly filmed in classrooms and the school library without their knowledge. The videos, which were not indecent, were downloaded onto his device, and he subsequently used AI software to manipulate the images, altering them to depict the students in various states of undress or transforming them into anime-style images.
He had pleaded guilty to six counts related to the creation and possession of these indecent images, which included four counts of making or producing images and two counts of possession. The total number of images involved was 43, with 31 of these being altered to show the girls in a state of undress. All these offences occurred on May 27 of the previous year. The images ranged from relatively realistic manipulations to more stylized anime versions, highlighting the extent of his misuse of technology.
During the court proceedings at the Court of General Gaol Delivery in Douglas, Taylor admitted to the charges. It was revealed that he had previously worked at The Hollins School in Accrington, where he gained employment after pleading guilty to the offences. The school expressed shock upon learning of his crimes, especially since his Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check had come back clear, raising questions about how such activities went undetected. The Hollins School stated it would investigate why Taylor’s criminal record did not reflect his misconduct, noting that he had worked there during the autumn term before leaving citing 'health reasons.'
Two students who were filmed and photographed by Taylor were identified and spoken to by authorities. Both confirmed that no contact offences had occurred, and neither wished to provide victim impact statements, expressing a desire to 'move on with their lives.'
In addition to his prison sentence, Liam Taylor was handed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his activities and protect the community. Furthermore, upon his release, he will be barred from entering the Isle of Man for a period of five years, effectively banning him from returning to the island where his crimes took place. This case underscores the serious consequences of exploiting technology for harmful purposes and highlights ongoing concerns about safeguarding students from such predatory behavior.
