CHIPPENHAM MAN COULD BE JAILED OVER STASH OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES

Update- 20/2/2025 In 2026, records from the Offender Database indicated that Lewis Walker, aged 31 and residing on Bakehouse Close in Chippenham, Wiltshire, was sent back to prison for new crimes involving children.

During a January 2026 hearing at Salisbury Crown Court, Walker pleaded guilty to possessing 38 indecent images of minors and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

The court highlighted that this new offending occurred five years after his initial conviction for attempting to contact a child inappropriately.

It was established that Walker was first convicted at Bristol Crown Court on January 10, 2020, for trying to engage a child in sexual communication.

He was subsequently subjected to a five-year SHPO aimed at limiting his access to digital devices and contact with minors.

However, by December 2025, he appeared before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court, where authorities reported he had violated these restrictions by collecting 38 abusive images of children, leading to his immediate arrest by Wiltshire Police.

The court found that Walker’s failure to adhere to his previous court orders represented ongoing danger to children.

During the hearing, magistrates noted that he had breached specific prohibitions on his use of internet-connected devices.

Finding that the recent discovery of indecent images so close to the expiration of his original SHPO posed a significant risk, the judge sentenced him to seven months in custody, citing his disturbing pattern of behaviour in Chippenham.

The judge emphasized that public safety required additional measures including extended statutory monitoring.

For his offences in Chippenham, Walker received a sentence of seven months imprisonment.

Prosecutors remarked that his escalation from sexual communication attempts to possessing abusive images indicated a progression in his offending, justifying the imposition of a long-term supervision order.

His sentence also involved registration requirements: Walker is now on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years, in addition to a new seven-year SHPO imposing strict digital restrictions.

Following his guilty plea to three charges, he was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court.] Walker remains under the supervision of Wiltshire Police and the Probation Service, managed through Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA).

Given his repeated offending and breaches, oversight by the Public Protection Unit is ongoing.

As a registered sex offender, he must inform authorities of his residence in Bakehouse Close for seven years.

The new SHPO allows police to conduct unannounced inspections of his electronic devices.

Any further violations of his registration, SHPO, or release conditions will result in immediate arrest and a return to court.

A resident of Chippenham faces potential imprisonment after being found with a collection of child abuse images.

Lewis Walker, aged 31 and residing in Bakehouse Close, was found in possession of 38 indecent photographs of minors.

He admitted to the charges during his hearing at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 10 December.

It was revealed that 16 of these images were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe form of abuse, including acts involving penetration.

An additional 22 images fell under Category B, depicting non-penetrative sexual activities.

Walker downloaded this disturbing material between May and June 2024.

Due to the gravity of the case, the magistrates referred the matter to Salisbury Crown Court for sentencing.

Until then, Walker remains on bail until 9 January.

He is also required to register as a sex offender within three days, with the duration of this registration to be decided at the sentencing hearing.
