FORMER SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT AVOIDS PRISON AFTER SEXUALLY ABUSING HER SISTER WHO WAS JUST 13
A woman who formerly worked as a special educational needs teaching assistant has been spared prison after encouraging her 13-year-old sister to engage in sexual acts.Jassey Snooks, aged 44 and residing on Wood Lane in Chippenham, faced nine charges of sexual misconduct, including both penetrative and non-penetrative acts with a teenage girl, as well as participating in sexual activities in front of a child aged between 13 and 15.
These incidents occurred between 2008 and 2010.
Snooks, who was 26 at the time, engaged in manipulative and abusive behavior towards her sister, who was just 13 years old.
Her actions included involving her in online sex shows with men on webcam platforms like Chatroulette, kissing her, touching her sexually, and exchanging explicit photos while both were naked.
She also encouraged her sister to masturbate in front of her.
Court hearings revealed that Snooks used alcohol and drugs alongside her sister and even bought a fake ID to go clubbing together.
A childhood friend of the victim reported seeing them go online via webcam, dressed in underwear, engaging with men, kissing in prolonged sessions, and possessing explicit photographs of them in suggestive poses.
The victim chose to waive her right to anonymity, allowing Snooks to be publicly identified.
Snooks made her initial court appearance at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on February 7, 2025, with the case being transferred to Salisbury Crown Court due to the gravity of the allegations.
Her trial at Winchester Crown Court on December 8 of the previous year resulted in a unanimous conviction for inciting a child to take part in sexual activity.
Previously employed as an SEN assistant at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, Snooks received her sentence on January 20, 2026.
Judge Bromige handed her a 15-month prison term, suspended for 18 months, and mandated her to undertake 30 days of re-education activities along with 175 hours of unpaid community service.
Furthermore, she is required to register as a sex offender for ten years and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order during this period.
