TEENAGER JAILED FOR ASSAULTING GIRLFRIEND IN A TOXIC RELATIONSHIP
A teenager named Lewis Tyndall assaulted his girlfriend when she tried to call for help by shouting out of a window. The couple had been in a relationship for two years and had a child together.
Tyndall's aggression escalated after a dispute where he wanted to leave to visit his brother despite her objections.
She apparently told him that if he left he could take his belongings and depart.
During the incident, Tyndall forcibly pulled her away from the window and caused bruising to her arm, acknowledging the use of force.
He pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Kirklees Magistrates' Court.
The prosecutor, Maggie Cavanagh, stated that Tyndall's actions were driven by fear of arrest and that he panicked.
His mitigation lawyer, Fazaila Kauser, described their relationship as toxic and said it was now over, with Tyndall realizing that staying in such a relationship was harmful.
Tyndall was fined £200, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £23 victim surcharge.
Deputy District Judge Hales advised him to 'Keep your cool.' The court's outcome emphasizes the violent conduct towards his partner and his remorse, leading to a financial penalty and a caution to manage emotions better in future.
