2023: STALKER JAILED AFTER REPEATEDLY ATTACKING WOMAN IN HEREFORD

A STALKER who attacked a woman, sent repeated messages, and turned up to her home uninvited has been jailed.

Leszek Przewdziecki appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing in July after entering guilty pleas to three counts of assault by beating and one count of stalking involving a fear of violence at an earlier hearing.

The court heard that the 40-year-old had pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of a woman in Hereford between June 1 and 30, causing her to fear on at least two occasions that violence would be used against her.

He had sent numerous abusive and threatening text messages and turned up at her address uninvited on numerous occasions.

The prosecutor said he knew or ought to have known that his behaviour would cause her to fear violence.

He had also assaulted the same woman by beating in Herefordshire between January 20 and March 31, between May 1 and 31, and on June 27.

Magistrates said the offences were so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified due to the nature of the threats and accompanying assaults, their prolonged nature, and the effect they had on the victim.

Przewdziecki, who is of no fixed address, was jailed for a total of 24 weeks and ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge.
