RAPIST JAILED FOR 24 YEARS AFTER 'HORRIFIC CRIMINALITY‘
In a trial held at Swindon Crown Court, Lee Hampton, a 50-year-old resident of Hollingbourne in Kent, was found guilty in July 2025 of multiple severe sexual crimes.The jury convicted him of seven counts of rape, four counts of assault by penetration, and two counts of administering a drug with intent.
These incidents occurred between January 2017 and October 2020 and involved a woman in her 30s.
Evidence presented during the trial revealed Hampton’s routine practice of spiking his victim’s cold and flu medication with crushed sleeping pills while she was unconscious, then raping her.
He also attempted to drug her food on at least two occasions.
Additionally, Hampton shared videos and images depicting these acts with third parties, shocking the courtroom.
The victim, in a personal statement, shared the profound psychological damage she suffered.
She described her ongoing struggles, including daily flashbacks, nightmares, and difficulty trusting others or forming healthy relationships.
She expressed deep distress over the lasting impact of Hampton’s actions.
After uncovering the extent of his misconduct, she contacted police.
The subsequent investigation led to Hampton’s arrest, trial, and conviction, and he was sentenced to a prison term lasting 24 years with an extended six-year licence period imposed.
