LEE DAVIS SEX OFFENDER FROM GRIMSBY JAILED FOR ASSAULT ON TEENAGER IN SCUNTHORPE

In a case that has drawn significant attention in the local community, Lee Davis, a 33-year-old man from Macaulay Street in Grimsby, has been sentenced to prison following an incident involving a teenage girl.

The events took place over a period spanning from May to December 2012, during which Davis engaged in a sexual assault that ultimately led to his conviction.

Despite denying the allegations, Davis was found guilty by a jury after a trial held at Grimsby Crown Court.

The court proceedings revealed that Davis was involved in a drink-fuelled encounter with the young girl, which resulted in the charges against him.

However, he was acquitted of six other charges, including the serious offence of raping the girl, as well as allegations brought forward by two other women who had made complaints against him.

During the trial, Tom Storey, representing Davis, argued that the incident was isolated and that alcohol played a significant role in the events.

He emphasized that Davis had no prior criminal record, highlighting his clean history before this incident.

Davis had previously been employed in the security sector at the Scunthorpe steelworks, a position he lost following his arrest.

Since then, he has not been employed.

As a result of his conviction, Davis was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Additionally, the court imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his activities and interactions to prevent further harm.

Furthermore, Davis is required to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and community safety measures.
