WOMAN JAILED AFTER FALSE RAPE CLAIM LEFT INNOCENT MAN HUNTED IN STREET
A manipulative woman who crafted a web of "disgusting" falsehoods by wrongly accusing an innocent man of rape has finally faced justice.Her devastated victim recounted how his life was "destroyed" after being labeled a "nonce" and a "pervert," attacked brutally in the street with a hammer, and feared facing lengthy imprisonment—all because of her malicious lies.
Additionally, after initially confessing to police, she later recanted, falsely asserting, "I am telling you the truth." Sarah Howie, 33, of Victoria Street in Grimsby, pleaded guilty to two counts of perverting the course of justice following her false allegations in April 2022, according to reports from Grimsby Live.
In contrast, the man she falsely accused described how, following his arrest, he was shouted at in public, called a nonce and pervert, and physically assaulted.
"I was beaten up in the street.
I was scared constantly that I might be attacked again or accused of something." He emphasized that this was the worst accusation he had ever faced, calling it "disgusting and completely wrong." He explained the profound impact it had on his life, stating, "This has affected me deeply and is one of the worst accusations a man can face." He recounted further: "People on the street called me nonce, paedo, and similar names.
Someone even stamped on my head.
I was attacked with a hammer." Due to the ordeal, he moved away from Grimsby, never expecting to have to leave.
He lost friends and a 20-year relationship because of the false charges.
Despite efforts to clear his name, some still refuse to believe he is innocent.
"She destroyed my life and nearly got me killed because of her false accusations.
With my sister's support, I’m beginning to recover." He added that nothing is more devastating than being accused of rape, a burden that will likely stay with him forever, causing him to constantly look over his shoulder.
