LOWESTOFT MAN ADMITS TO OVER 1,000 INDECENT CHILD IMAGES
A man has admitted to having more than 1,000 images of children.Before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Monday was 29-year-old Lee Burton.
Burton, formerly of Lowestoft, currently of Whitford Road, Birkenhead, has admitted three charges making indecent photographs of a child.
Such images are categorised, with the most serious images and videos ranked at category A.
Between November 2019 and December 2020, Burton has admitted to having 269 Category A images of children.
He also admitted having 277 Category B images and 528 Category C images, a total of 1,074 indecent images.
Court documents show that the images relate to his time in Lowestoft.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the word “making” can be interpreted in a variety of ways by courts.
Meanings include, but are not limited to, opening an email attachment, downloading an image, and accessing a pornographic website in which indecent images appear by way of a 'pop-up'.
Burton will now be subject to the notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
He will be sentenced on October 13.
