LOWESTOFT PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR 17 YEARS FOR SEX ABUSE
A man from Lowestoft has been jailed for 17 years with an additional year on licence after being found guilty of sexually abusing a child for five years.John Keeble was previously found guilty of 10 sexual crimes against a child by unanimous verdict at Ipswich Crown Court.
The charges included three of oral rape, three offences of taking indecent images of children, three offences of making pseudo indecent images of children and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
During his trial it was heard that Keeble, 43, had forced his victim to perform a sex act on him, while he held the door to the room closed.
It was also heard that Keeble, of Selby Street, Lowestoft, had more than 200 pseudo images of children on his phone, where a child’s face had been superimposed onto the body of a naked woman.
The trial was told that 20 of these images had used doctored photographs of the victim’s mother.
Keeble told the court via his barrister, that he now accepted what he had done and said: 'It is what it is, I’ve done what I’ve done and I want to come out of here a better person.' The victim said she did not tell anyone because she was scared he would hit her if she did.
One of the parents of a victim said in an impact statement: ‘I felt very shocked, I felt helpless, the last three years have been so hard.
What he has done will never go away.’ Recorder Jeremy Benson KC added: 'That perhaps sums up this case.'
