LOWESTOFT BARBER ADAM GALLAGHER JAILED FOR CHILD IMAGES
A Suffolk barber who had a “sickening catalogue” of indecent images of children has been jailed for 30 months.Sentencing 38-year-old Adam Gallagher, Judge David Wilson said he had downloaded more than 28, 000 indecent images of children aged between two and 14, some of whom were in obvious pain and distress.
He said Gallagher had also distributed some of the images to another person.
Ipswich Crown Court heard on Tuesday (February 3) that police officers acting on information from the National Crime Agency went to Gallagher’s home with a search warrant in March 2024.
They seized three devices, including an iPhone, an iPad and a desktop computer, which contained 25 indecent images of children in the most serious level A category, 60 images in category B, and over 28,500 images in the least serious level C category.
There were also 33 prohibited images of children, including one created using AI.
Gallagher had distributed three level A indecent videos of children, one level B video, and 17 level C images.
In addition to his 30-month jail sentence, he received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Joanne Eley, representing Gallagher, stated he had no previous convictions and initially viewed legal adult pornography to meet his sexual needs after a breakup.
However, this progressed to interests in online forums and chat rooms, introducing him to fantasies, familial sex, and indecent images of children.
