PERTHSHIRE WOMAN WHO HURLED PHONE AT YOUNG BOY'S FACE AND LIED ABOUT IT
A 36-year-old woman from Perthshire named Leanne Colhoun was involved in an incident where she injured a young boy by hurling a mobile phone at his face.She initially attempted to blame her actions on the boy's younger brother during hospital interviews, claiming the injury was caused by the younger sibling.
However, her lie was exposed when the young victim was interviewed by medical staff.
Colhoun admitted to assaulting the boy, telling hospital staff that her injury was caused by a younger sibling, but this was refuted by the boy's account.
During the incident, Colhoun made a motion as if to throw the phone at the boy, then actually threw it, hitting him in the mouth and causing bleeding.
The boy was subsequently taken to Perth Royal Infirmary, and her actions led to police involvement.
Sheriff William Wood stated, "This must have been distressing for everybody.
It is much to her horror what has happened." Colhoun was placed under social work supervision for 12 months after admitting to assaulting two children on separate occasions in Perth on 15 March and the following day, including hitting a 12-year-old with a mobile phone that may have caused long-term damage to his tooth.
