PERTHSHIRE POLICE DOG TRAINER EXPOSED AS SERIAL RAPIST WHO ABUSED HIS DOGS
Ian Hendry, who previously worked as a police dog trainer, was convicted of assaulting, raping, and terrifying women over a period of more than thirty years.Additionally, he caused unnecessary suffering to his dogs.
At Edinburgh's High Court, he was found guilty on 15 counts, including assault, rape, and causing cruelty to protected animals.
The jury was informed that he frequently choked his victims, pointed a pistol at one woman's head, and urged another to take her own life.
Hendry also mistreated his dogs, often strangling them with their own collars or tightening their collars so much they couldn't breathe.
His sentencing has been postponed as his legal team challenged a risk assessment required before sentencing.
Hendry was the only NASDU-certified drug-dog trainer in Scotland and is now convicted of serious criminal offenses that spanned many years.
