WOMAN WHO ASSAULTED PARTNER WITH VODKA BOTTLE IN CAERPHILLY GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE
A woman named Lateasha Dix, aged 22, was involved in a domestic violence incident at her residence in Caerphilly.During an argument, she assaulted her partner by hitting him twice over the head with a vodka bottle after he had been drinking alcohol and taking cocaine.
The victim was left bloodied and was found outside her home with a large head laceration when police arrived.
Dix herself was found at her front door, described as 'irate and upset'.
The police were called by neighbors and Dix herself, who wanted the partner removed from her property.
The court heard that both claimed the other had assaulted them with the victim stating that Dix hit him over the head with a vodka bottle and mentioning his alcohol and drug intake, while Dix claimed she had been kicked in the head and acted in self-defense.
Dix pleaded guilty to wounding without intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She was identified as having a previously good character but had prior cautions for criminal damage and theft.
At her arrest, she admitted to daily alcohol consumption for 5-6 months and cocaine use.
The judge noted her high intoxication made her behavior 'unpredictable' and sentenced her to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months.
Additionally, she was ordered to complete nine months of alcohol treatment and pay costs of £140.
