HEREFORD STALKER JAILED FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER
A man has been incarcerated after breaching a restraining order by repeatedly engaging with and visiting his victim.
Krystian Majewski pleaded guilty to two counts: one of stalking without causing fear, alarm, or distress, and another of harassment via breach of a court order, during a hearing at Kidderminster in January.
The prosecution, led by David Devine, told the magistrates that the 39-year-old defendant’s actions towards a woman in Hereford amounted to stalking, knowing or should have known that such conduct was harassment.
His behaviour included persistent attempts to contact her and visits to her home against her wishes from December 21 to January 3.
Majewski also broke a restraining order granted in Hereford on July 30, 2020, by repeatedly contacting the victim and returning to her address without valid reason.
The court considered the seriousness of the offence, especially given Majewski’s previous stalking conviction of the same woman and his continued unwanted contact after the restraining order was issued.
Consequently, he was sentenced to ten months behind bars.
No additional prosecution costs were awarded, as the sentence covered that, but he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge totaling £187.
The case, involving a resident of Golden Post in Hereford, underscores the ongoing issue of breaches of restraining orders and stalking behavior.
