KIM SHARP FROM ST IVES SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AT HUNTINGDON PARTY
In December 2009, a woman named Kim Sharp, aged 29, was sentenced after being convicted of indecently assaulting a teenage girl during a gathering in Huntingdon.
The incident, which took place at a party held in a housing complex in Huntingdon last July, resulted in Sharp being found guilty of grabbing the 13-year-old victim's groin area.
Kim Sharp, who resides on Norris Road in St Ives, faced a jury at Peterborough Crown Court.
She denied any sexual activity with the girl, asserting that she had not been in the vicinity when the incident occurred and that she had not touched the girl at all.
Despite her denials, the jury convicted her of the charges.
The court heard that the young girl, who had gone outside with friends during the party, initially believed that her groin had been touched by a male family friend she was cuddling.
However, witnesses testified that they heard Sharp make comments and observed her touch the girl again.
The girl was reportedly shocked and distressed by the incident, leading her to confide in her mother, which subsequently prompted a formal complaint to authorities.
