A man aged 47 has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing a young girl.
Robert Clark sexually assaulted the girl over a period of one year, between July 2020 and July 2021.
The victim’s mother discovered the abuse after the girl revealed what had happened, leading to a police investigation.
Following a trial, Clark, of Fairfields Crescent, St Ives, was convicted of two counts of sexual activity involving a child under 13.
On Friday, 8 May, he was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court, where he also received a sexual harm prevention order, an indefinite restraining order, and a requirement to remain on the sex offenders’ register for life.
