KEVIN MORRISON OF MIDDLESBROUGH SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Kevin Morrison, a 50-year-old resident of Middlesbrough, was convicted of assaulting his partner following an incident on July 16 of the previous year.
During the attack, Morrison pulled her hair extensions and placed her in a chokehold.
Reports state that he arrived at the woman's home intoxicated, pulled her to the ground, and restrained her with a wrestling hold.
He also bit her finger and forcibly pulled her hair extensions.
A teenage resident called the police, and a neighbor witnessed Morrison pinning the woman against a window and throwing her around.
Officers found Morrison sitting outside the house after the assault.
Morrison has a history of similar offenses, having been convicted in 2015 for punching, headbutting, and choking a woman, though he received a suspended sentence at that time.
Although he was granted bail following this incident, he was re-arrested on December 10 when police discovered him at his victim's home.
He appeared in court via video link from Holme House prison, where he has been held on remand.
His solicitor argued that Morrison was confused about his previous conviction and believed he was permitted to be invited back to his partner’s residence, despite breaking bail conditions by being there.
Judge Paul Reid ultimately sentenced Morrison to two years in prison.
Morrison is from Chippenham Road, Easterside, Middlesbrough.
