TEACHING ASSISTANT KERRY DALE JAILED FOR HISTORIC SEXUAL ABUSE
A teaching assistant who had sexually abused a schoolgirl has at last faced justice decades after the offences.Kerry Dale, aged 44, of Beechtrees, Skelmersdale, was convicted of three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16 and two counts of inciting a girl under 16 to commit an act of gross indecency, committed between January 2000 and March 2002.
She was sentenced to seven years in prison and will be on the sex offenders register for life.
The case was prosecuted following a trial at Preston Crown Court which concluded two weeks prior to the article's publishing.
Detective Sergeant Karen Harrison of Lancashire Police's rape and serious sexual offences team praised the victim's bravery and urged others to contact the police if they have experienced similar offences.
Harrison emphasized the force’s dedicated teams for such cases and their commitment to investigating historic sexual abuse cases with professionalism and sensitivity.
