KENNETH MOSS OF NORTHWICH SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES

In May 2007, a Northwich man named Kenneth Moss was sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of 16 counts of indecent assault against children spanning over three decades. Moss, 52, of Chester Road, was ordered to serve a minimum of three years and a maximum of four, as punishment for a series of sexual offenses committed against six girls and one boy over a 32-year period.

The earliest assault took place in 1972 when Moss was still a teenager. Following this, he committed further perverted assaults on six additional young victims.

Throughout the sentencing at Warrington Crown Court on Wednesday, Moss maintained a blank stare with his arms crossed, showing no visible remorse as Judge Clarke delivered the sentence.

He will eventually be released on license but will remain on the sex offenders’ register for life.

During his trial at Knutsford Crown Court in April, Moss strongly denied any wrongdoing. His defence lawyer argued that the allegations might be motivated by spite from the witnesses against him.

In her sentencing remarks, Judge Clarke stated: “Your life is in ruins but you brought it upon yourself. You used your victims to satisfy your own sexual demands over a period of 30 years or so. The individual offences are not the worst of their kind, but what really is of concern is the constant breach of trust and the duration. The price is now being paid by your victims. It cannot help but color the attitudes of those people towards their future relationships.”
