TESCO DELIVERY DRIVER STALKED PERTHSHIRE WOMAN
A Tesco delivery driver named Kenneth Massie was involved in a stalking incident that caused distress to a woman in Aberfeldy. The court heard that he made unwanted and inappropriate visits to her home on August 22 and 24 of the previous year, causing her fear and alarm.
He deliberately turned up uninvited after delivering groceries and later asked her personal questions, including whether she was breastfeeding her children, which made her uncomfortable.
Massie also returned to her house while she was not in and spoke to a neighbor, stating he had 'half an hour to kill' and that he intended to help her with shopping if needed.
The woman called the police after these events.
In court, Sheriff William Wood emphasized that someone in Massie’s trusted position as a delivery driver should have known his conduct was highly inappropriate, especially given her vulnerability.
Massie admitted to engaging in conduct that caused her fear and alarm, leading to a ban from seeing her for five years and a fine of £630.
Additionally, he was issued a non-harassment order for five years.
Massie resigned from Tesco following the incident and now works as a farm worker.
The court referred to his behavior as seriously damaging due to his trusted role and the impact on the woman.
