HALIFAX MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE AND ABUSE
In Calderdale, 20 men have been sentenced to a total of over 200 years for historic child sexual abuse, following a thorough investigation.
These individuals were collectively handed 219 years in prison after being convicted of abusing and raping young girls.
The court heard that four victims, aged between 12 and 16, were exploited as part of this abuse.
The inquiries began in 2016, focusing on incidents that took place from 2006 to 2009.
Among those convicted is Kamran Amin, 48, from Halifax, who was given a 10-year jail term for rape.
The cases involved multiple trials and diverse penalties for the offenders involved.
Claire Smith, the Senior Investigating Officer, highlighted the strength shown by the victims and stressed that tackling child sexual exploitation remains a key focus for West Yorkshire Police.
She also encouraged victims of abuse to come forward, no matter how much time has passed since the incidents.
