NOTTINGHAMSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL PARENTAL STABBING ATTACK
A man responsible for a severe stabbing incident at his Nottinghamshire residence has been given a prison sentence.Kamil Dantes, aged 29, was found to have murdered his parents by stabbing them, a crime that a detective labeled as "the most brutal, unprovoked" killing he had ever witnessed.
The victims, Leszek and Malgorzata Dantes, both aged 54, were discovered dead in their bedroom on April 21, 2014.
Originally from Poland, Dantes admitted to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility and was initially sentenced to 19 years.
According to court testimony, Dantes suffered from mental health problems and was heavily intoxicated during the attack, having used cannabis and amphetamines for several years.
He was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act and designated to serve his sentence in a high-security hospital.
The judge pointed out that Dantes's worsening mental state, worsened by substance abuse, played a significant role in the violence, stating: "Your declining mental health was heavily influenced by your drug use, especially your cannabis consumption.
This incident underscores the risks associated with cannabis and its potential to trigger psychotic episodes in young men." The assault was so violent that one of the knives penetrated Mrs.
Dantes's head.
Detective Leigh Sanders described the attack as "the most brutal, unprovoked" he had ever seen, and the court warned that Dantes continued to pose a substantial threat to others, particularly his family.
