ROCHDALE MAN JAILED FOR 7 YEARS FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT OF TEENAGERS
Joshim Miah, aged 32, of Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, has been convicted of one count of rape and received a jail term of seven years.His crimes involved targeting and assaulting three teenage girls aged between 14 and 16 during the period between 2004 and 2008.
The convictions were the result of a trial following the ongoing Operation Doublet investigation aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation in Rochdale.
The case was handled by Minshull Street Crown Court, where Miah was found guilty of the serious sexual offences.
The investigation and subsequent sentencing underscore the commitment of Greater Manchester Police to tackling such crimes and protecting vulnerable young people.
Det Chief Insp Jamie Daniels highlighted the bravery of the victims and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in preventing sexual exploitation, stating that tackling this issue remains an absolute priority for the police force.
