LUTON MAN JORGE BLANCO JAILED FOR STRANGLING GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH
THIS is the disturbing moment a man named Jorge Blanco, originally from Mexico and living in Nevada, US, was involved in a violent attack on his girlfriend.Blanco was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison after strangling a woman in a Luton flat until she turned "blue".
She later died in hospital five days after the assault.
During the trial, Blanco claimed he had "brain fog" and could not remember attacking his girlfriend.
He attempted to justify his actions by blaming his sugar levels, which police investigators later dismissed as a manipulation tactic.
When asked why he was at the police station, Blanco appeared confused, clutching his head and saying, "I have really bad brain fog.
My diabetes, my sugar jumps.
I'm just completely lost." Channel 4's 24 Hours in Police Custody showed Blanco limping through the station with complaints of right kidney pain.
He was seen to be bewildered and asked to see a nurse.
Blanco’s own police confession was captured on body camera footage, where he admitted, "I did it, I did it.
I was laying on her, I didn't know I was that tight on her." Despite multiple scratches on his face and body, these were considered to be from self-defense.
The victim suffered a severe brain bleed after being suffocated by Blanco, who was then found lying over her lifeless body with a knife resting on a table nearby.
Authorities said Blanco showed signs of disorientation and asked police why he was there, again citing his "brain fog".
It was revealed the pair had a previous relationship characterized by control, manipulation, jealousy, and narcissistic traits, as described by the judge.
Blanco, who was living in Nevada and was a resident of Mexico, was found at the scene after police responded to two emergency calls—one from the victim herself, which was cut off, and another from Blanco explaining there had been an argument.
Blanco claimed to police that he was "safe," but that his girlfriend was "not," adding that she was "blue in the face." Emergency services discovered she had attempted to contact police multiple times through her mobile SOS button.
Blanco was taken into custody and appeared disoriented and confused, showing ongoing signs of brain fog.
His subsequent police interview showed him sleepy, asking for a nurse due to dizziness, and displaying fluttering eyes and shivering.
The police recorded Blanco's chilling confession stating, "I did it, I did it.
I was laying on her, I didn't know I was that tight on her." It was confirmed she died due to a large brain bleed caused by suffocation.
The investigation revealed Blanco's controlling and narcissistic behavior in their prior relationship.
Blanco did not appear to be from the UK, and it was unclear why he was at the flat or what his intentions were.
The victim had not been seen leaving the apartment since the day before the attack.
Blanco was detained and was observed being "dizzy" and asking about his whereabouts.
He was unbalanced and showed signs of confusion throughout custody and police interviews.
This case highlights the brutal murder of a woman by her partner, with Blanco receiving a 20-year sentence for the killing, emphasizing the severity of the crime and the tragic loss of a young woman with a promising future.
