A DOMESTIC abuser has been jailed after he committed a catalogue of vile offences against his ex-girlfriend.
Jonathan Weaver, 33, from Ebbw Vale, punched the woman in the face and then kicked her whilst she was on the ground earlier this month.
The violence was “aggravated” because Weaver was high on drugs at the time.
He also destroyed her iPhone 13 and a pair of glasses during the violence.
These offences took place on October 7.
Weaver pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage.
The court was told these crimes were committed within hours of him being spared prison after a suspended sentence for similar offences.
In August, Weaver brandished a hammer and spat at her during ‘a serious and unprovoked attack’.
He was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail after returning to court for the October offences and for breaching the suspended sentence.
Weaver was also issued a restraining order not to contact the woman and must pay her £725 in compensation.
He went on the run following the August incident but was caught after police issued an appeal.
Weaver's offending is categorized as domestic abuse, with a focus on violence and criminal damage, resulting in a jail sentence and a restraining order.
