BRIERFIELD PAEDO TO BE SENTENCED OVER SEXUAL OFFENCES

John Whittingham, aged 44 and residing on Wood Street in Brierfield, admitted to attempting to persuade a girl aged between 13 and 15 to participate in penetrative sexual acts, as well as trying to engage in sexual conversations with a minor.

The charges allege that in February of the previous year, he attempted to induce a girl he believed to be 14 years old to partake in sexual activity, sent her images of himself, and asked for images in return.

He appeared before Burnley Crown Court on July 22 and is due to be sentenced on November 6.
