BRIERFIELD MAN GIVEN COMMUNITY ORDER OVER STALKING CHARGE

A man has been handed a community order over a charge of stalking.

Johar Chowdhry, 35, appeared at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Thursday (February 12) charged with one count of stalking involving fear/alarm/distress.

Chowdhry, of Lord Street, Brierfield, was handed a one-year community order.

A two-year restraining order was also imposed between him and the victim.

He was ordered to pay costs of £199.
