BRIERFIELD MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A man named Andrew Roche has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for breaching a restraining order and harassment.
Roche was convicted of punching his partner, Danielle Windle, on Christmas Day and was given a two-year restraining order against him.
Despite this, less than a month after receiving the order, Roche attempted to contact Miss Windle over 40 times via missed calls between March 10 and 15, and also sent her messages through Snapchat on February 24.
He went further by putting her car up for sale on Facebook, attempting to hack into her email account, and sending her father abusive messages.
Roche was arrested on March 16, interviewed the next day, and pleaded guilty before being charged in court.
The judge emphasized Roche’s repeated breaches and previous convictions, stating that only a custodial sentence was appropriate.
Roche's sentence includes a further six months to be served on license after release.
