LUTON BODYBUILDER JENEY VARGHESE SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR ABUSING FOUR-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Luton, Jenev Varghese, a 33-year-old bodybuilder and personal trainer residing on Foxglove Way, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of heinous crimes involving a young girl. The conviction stems from a trial held in August, during which the jury found him guilty of two counts of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13.
The court proceedings revealed that Varghese had engaged in multiple instances of sexual abuse against the four-year-old girl.
The jury was also informed of the terrifying threats he made to the victim, warning her that her family would be harmed or killed if she dared to disclose what had happened.
These threats were part of the pattern of abuse that left the young girl traumatized and fearful.
Following the conviction, Judge Lynn Tayton QC handed down a sentence of 12 years in prison, with an additional one-year extension.
The court also ordered that Varghese be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
Furthermore, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was issued to restrict his contact with the victim and prevent any further harm.
A restraining order was also put into effect, explicitly banning him from making any contact with the girl until further notice or legal intervention.
The case first came to light in August 2017, when Varghese, then aged 32, was found guilty of sexually assaulting the young girl.
The jury, which reached a majority verdict, heard detailed accounts of the abuse and the threats made by Varghese.
The court heard that he had assaulted the girl on multiple occasions, exploiting her innocence and trust.
Prior to sentencing, Varghese was remanded in custody, and his case has garnered significant media attention within the Luton area.
The community remains deeply concerned about the safety of children and the importance of safeguarding measures to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.
The court’s decision underscores the severity of the crimes committed and the justice system’s commitment to protecting vulnerable victims from predators like Jenev Varghese.
