BURNLEY WOMAN THREATENED WITH KNIFE AFTER BREAKUP
A woman named Jeanette Drabble, aged 41, was involved in an incident where she threatened her former partner after finding her with another man.The court heard that Drabble was still upset over the end of their 'rocky' relationship and produced a weapon, specifically a sharply pointed blade, after her emotions overwhelmed her at her ex's residence in Burnley.
She told police she attempted to stab her former partner during the incident.
Drabble pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior and possessing an article with a sharply pointed blade in public.
She was sentenced to a 12-month community order, which includes 12 months of supervision and participation in the Think First program.
Additionally, she was ordered to pay £50 in costs.
The prosecution revealed that Drabble and the victim had a four-year relationship that ended at the close of the previous year.
The victim was at home with a male friend when Drabble showed up, asking to collect her belongings and making aggressive remarks about damaging the property.
She threw a plant pot at the window and then pulled out the knife, lunging towards her former partner and threatening to stab her.
The defense stated that the victim had been obstructive regarding access to her belongings, and although Drabble did produce the knife, she denied threatening her former partner, citing that her emotions were still raw from seeing her ex with another man.
