WYMONDHAM RAPIST JASON O'DELL SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON
A man with a history of violence was jailed for life after being convicted of raping and carrying out a brutal attack on a woman.
Jason O'Dell, 43, from Daisy Street, Wymondham, was sentenced after being found guilty at Norwich Crown Court of three rapes, three ABHs (Actual Bodily Harm), two common assaults by beating, one count of criminal damage, and another of affray.
He had denied all charges but was convicted following a trial.
Judge Stephen Holt described O'Dell as posing a high risk to women and said he had devastated his victim's life.
Judge Holt stated that O'Dell must serve a minimum of nine years before being eligible for parole and ordered him to be on the sex offenders' register for life.
The judge detailed that O'Dell repeatedly raped his victim, made her perform degrading sex acts, and attacked her physically by punching her so hard that she could hardly open her eyes.
When the victim managed to escape and reported the assault to the police, she had been forced to relocate from her previous residence.
The court emphasized the severity of O'Dell's actions and the threat he poses to the community.
