A 32-year-old man, Jan Biliniewicz, was convicted of murdering his wife, Monika Biliniewicz, aged 25.
Her body was discovered with deadly stab wounds to the head and chest in their residence on Downs Road on 22 September 2010.
Despite her injuries, she succumbed in hospital.
Police reported that soon after the event, Biliniewicz was seen on a bridge over the M1 in Luton.
He was formally charged with her murder and was expected to stand trial at Luton Crown Court.
Eventually, he pled guilty to the charges, confirming his involvement in her death, leading to a life sentence with a minimum of 19 years behind bars.
The authorities and court described the case as tragic, noting that their six-year-old daughter was in Poland with family members during the time of the murder, which has profoundly affected the family.
