HOLYHEAD MAN JAILED FOR PERSISTENT DOMESTIC ABUSE AGAINST PARTNER
A man from Holyhead has been sentenced to prison for persistent domestic abuse against his partner.
Jamie Warner, 34, of Market Street, repeatedly subjected his partner to controlling and coercive behaviour between January 2021 and August 2023, causing her to fear she would come to significant harm.
During their relationship, he constantly messaged her asking about her whereabouts and made her feel guilty when she visited family.
He verbally abused her, threatened her, and each time she attempted to end the relationship, he sent texts and messages accusing her of being with other men.
Warner appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on April 30, where he pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour.
He was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison and was handed a decade-long restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim and entering the village of Talwrn, Anglesey.
Inspector Richard Griffith of North Wales Police emphasized that domestic abuse can take many forms and has a lasting impact, praising the victim for speaking out and affirming police commitment to prosecute perpetrators.
