ANGLESEY MAN CONVICTED OF BRUTAL PARTNER MURDER JAILED FOR 20 YEARS
Colin Milburn, who is 52 years old, was convicted by a jury of the murder of his long-term partner, Buddug Jones. The killing occurred at her residence on Anglesey in April of the previous year, with evidence showing he assaulted her using a heavy weapon.
The court proceedings revealed that Ms.
Jones was 48 years old, and she was a mother and grandmother.
She sustained severe head injuries during the assault.
The judge characterized Milburn's act as a 'savage and quite merciless' attack, carried out with 'murderous intent' and driven by feelings of resentment and self-pity.
As part of his sentencing, Milburn was given a minimum term of 20 years before being eligible for parole, with the judge highlighting that he posed a 'dangerous' threat and had shown no remorse.
The investigation included CCTV footage capturing Milburn arriving in the village earlier on the day of the incident.
Additionally, statements from their four sons expressed the deep grief and sense of loss felt by the family.
Milburn maintained his innocence, claiming he was not responsible for the killing and that he had gone to the house to do laundry.
Nonetheless, the jury rejected his assertions, and after a three-week trial, he was found guilty of murder in November.
