BELLSHILL MEN ADMIT HORRIFIC DOG ATTACK IN LANARKSHIRE
A pair of individuals from Bellshill have admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to two American Bully dogs during a savage attack.Jamie Seery, aged 36, reportedly punched the XL Bully named Bronson and shouted 'chop it, chop it', while Michael Keegans, aged 32, used a meat cleaver and a knife to harm the dogs.
The incident took place in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, and left Bronson and another American Bully called Karma with severe injuries, with the owner witnessing the distress.
Police discovered both men with blood on their hands and weapons in a garden shortly after, and it was noted that both appeared under the influence at the time.
Keegans justified his actions by claiming the attack was in defense of his own Staffy, Tyson, which reportedly had no injuries.
The dogs had previously received emergency treatment, incurring a vet bill of £600.
Both defendants appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court to admit causing unnecessary suffering; Seery also acknowledged acting threatening or abusive and resisting arrest.
Sentencing was deferred until next month for reports, with bail continued.
Sheriff John Hamilton KC took the case under advisement and adjourned the hearing.
