NOTTINGHAMSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT ATTACK ON EX-PARTNER
A Nottinghamshire man named Jamie Rowe has been sentenced to prison for a violent assault on his former partner.
During court proceedings, distressing audio recordings were played, revealing the victim screaming and begging Rowe to stop his attack.
The assault involved Rowe, who was intoxicated and worked as a self-employed bricklayer, punching the woman twice in the face, pulling her hair, bashing her head against the floor, and causing her to sustain a black eye.
The incident occurred on May 17 of this year after Rowe had helped himself to some beer at the victim's home.
The victim described feeling terrified and helpless as Rowe became aggressive, trying to bite her face and pulling her around by her hair and clothes in front of their three-year-old daughter.
The woman suffered bruising and emotional trauma, including panic attacks and embarrassment due to her injuries.
Rowe, who has a history of seven offences including stalking and battery, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, breaching a restraining order, and breaching a suspended sentence.
Nottingham Crown Court Judge Julie Warburton sentenced him to two years in prison and extended the restraining order, which prohibits him from contacting the victim or visiting her address in Worksop.
The judge noted the incident was particularly terrifying for the victim and her child, emphasizing the impact of Rowe's violent behavior.
