BRUTAL NOTTINGHAMSHIRE MURDERER WITH A SORDID PAST JAILED FOR LIFE
David Jackson, aged 67, was convicted of the brutal murder of Mckyla Taylor in August 2022.
He inflicted 199 separate injuries on her head and body, most of which were caused inside his flat using two screwdrivers found in the living room.
Jackson, who had a disturbing criminal background, including prior convictions for sexual abuse and exploitation of children, pleaded guilty to murder on June 1 and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years.
The CPS highlighted that Jackson had a pattern of abusive behavior towards Mckyla, including previously punching her when she was heavily pregnant.
Annette Thomas from the CPS stated: “David Jackson committed a horrific attack, inflicting nearly 200 injuries on a younger, vulnerable woman after a disturbing pattern of abusive behaviour towards her.
The sentence reflects the cruelty of that attack, the distress and suffering he inflicted on his victim and his abusive, sordid background.
I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Mckyla’s family and loved ones.” Tributes from her family described her as a loving daughter, always bubbly and fun-loving, and her brother expressed his intention to care for her daughter.
Jackson’s actions and background were characterized as heinous and abusive, leading to a life sentence with a significant minimum term.
